Jayalalithaa in Videoconference with panchayat chief

The Aranmanaipudhur Panchayat president, T.Muthumal Thangappan, interacting with the Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, through videoconferencing at the panchayat office near Theni on Webnesday.

For the first time, the Chief Minister, Jayalalitaa, today interacted with the aran-manaipudhur panchayat president, T.Muthumani Thangappan through video conferencing, introduced at the panchayat office near theni town today.

Ms.Muthumani spoke to the Chief minister for two-and-half minutes. Later, talking to mediapersons, Ms.Muthumani, expressing her happiness, said that she first thanked the Chief Minister for providing computers with sophisticated communication facility and assured that accounts would be automated immediately.

The President informed the Chief minister that she assumed office last week. Ms. Jayalalithaa enquired about her qualification and road facilities in the panchayat and advised to work for the people welfare.

Hectic arrangements were being made at the panchayat since morning, Technicians conducted several trial video-conferencing sessions since last night.

The Collector, Sunil Paliwal and other officials interacted with officials in Chennai to test the communication system.

The Secretary to Rural Development Department, Santha Sheela Nair, Contacted the Collector pacified the tension gripped panchayat president to speak without fear. Later, the Collector and the Panchayat president briefed media persons on the interactions.
